Problem: Describe the problem you solve.

Keeping the appearance updated with seasonal clothing is very expensive and generates a strong environmental impact. People invest a lot of money in garments that will use one or twice and these usually end up in the trash almost new.

Solution: Describe your solution and product road map

ByShapes is building a marketplace for people to rent clothes from their favorite fashion brands. They paying only for the time they use the garments, saving money and reducing the environmental impact by lengthening the product life time.

And better, our product offer can be very wide because our platform allows the rental service to stores that only used to sell. It turns out difficult for an apparel retailer to appropriate the logistics related to offer a rental service. We make it simple for them by creating a network of couriers, laundries and tailor shops, that take care of all the difficult stuff.

Market opportunity: Describe the opportunity. Include global market size, trends and risks.

The Online Clothing Rental is a growing industry of $1.3 billion that will double its worth the next 4 years and will be $4.4 billion in 2028. The growing trend of sustainable clothing, the rising trend of experiential marketing and the increasing adoption of the subscription-based model are some other major factors that will boost market growth, fast fashion companies with worldwide presence like H&M (they have already announced) that might become competitors. And some who are already like Urban Outfitters Inc. with presence in Canada, Europe, and the USA that created Nuuly their own platform to rent their own retail brands.

In Latin American countries, clothing rental is used exclusively to rent clothes for parties, a risk could be that people don't adopt the practice of renting clothes for other occasions.

Competitive Advantages: Describe your top competitors in Colombia and globally. Remember that there are direct and indirect competitors, so include both if relevant. Enumerate and explain your main competitive advantages. Include IP protection.

In Latin America, most e-commerce companies are focused on renting party dresses, so I don't consider them relevant competence right now but it could change, so I don't lose sight of them like Sarta (Colombia), Gocce (Chile), Ozsada(Perú) One-night stand (Mexico) among other. I'm following the step of GoTrendier a startup second-hand clothes marketplace with continuous growth in Colombia, Mexico & Spain.

And of course Rent the runway, Ycloset, Le Tote, among others who are leading the clothing rental market where they have a presence.

Fast fashion companies with worldwide presence like H&M (they have already announced) that might become competitors. And those who are already like Urban Outfitters Inc. with presence in Canada, Europe, and the USA that created Nuuly their own platform to rent their own retail brands.

Market fit: Describe how much your solution has been validated by potential customers and provide references that have tried or reviewed your solution.

The idea is not validated with users yet, I launched an MVP a few days ago, I have spoken with different companies in Bogotá located near 85th Street that are willing to put their clothes on the platform.

Strategy and plans: Explain your business model and go-to-market strategy. Include partnerships you are considering and your key performance indicators.

***TO START***

Byshapes charges to their customers for the rental service 25% of the retail price of couture clothing (just at the beginning), which also includes shipping, collection, laundry, and maintenance.

ByShapes receives all clothing from apparel stores to centralize logistics and only pay for it when a customer rents a garment of their brand.

The clothing brand will receive 50% of the rental price each time until 75% of the sale price of the product is completed. Later they are only paid 20% of the rental price until the product ends its useful life.

***TO EXPAND***

APPAREL RETAILERS

Our apparel retailers will be able to put their garments in our Marketplace and set the rental price, they will also have access to a network of allies that will handle shipping, laundry & maintenance of clothing getting low costs without changing their physical infrastructure.

We will have a commission pricing strategy for each service provided through the platform that includes:

- Clothing rental service

- Sale of products

ALLIES NETWORK

We also want to take care of the clothes that our customers have bought by providing laundry and maintenance of the garments (through our allies).

OWN BRAND

We will also have rental income from our own brand we'll create.

Team: Describe your main team and ownership. Include brief bio of team members.
